‘Tis The Season

When seasonal displays are immediately swapped with the next holiday and online ads know you’re thinking of Christmas shopping before you do, it’s hard to stay ahead of the game. If you’re a marketing manager launching full Christmas In July campaigns or a music supervisor trying to get a jump on ads that will play continuously from November through January, when is it not the season to start thinking about holiday campaigns?

‘Tis the season, every season.

But hark! Our Organic Spark label has three special records that hit hosts of angelic notes for modern holiday placements across film, television, and advertising. With Black Friday/November ads, holiday sales campaigns, diegetic music for a sitcom’s Christmas episode—and let’s not forget baking competitions—these albums each contain sparks that can set a yuletide log alight.

On Christmas Songs (OSPK-080) and Away For The Holidays (OSPK-081) you will find multiple versions of public domain Christmas carols like “Deck The Halls” and “Jingle Bells” with family-friendly and non-traditional genres alike. These specialized, semi-niche settings each feature vocal performances and arrangements designed to bring new life to old favorites, adding personality and quirks that stand out when the nights (and ads) are anything but silent.

See if any of these are on your list… then check it twice:

“Deck The Halls (Brit Mix)” — If we learned anything from Love Actually, British accents make all the difference. A smolderingly handsome, smooth yet broody, and subdued Brit Pop arrangement of the otherwise bubbly and vibrant carol might just be big in Wisconsin.

“Silent Night (Fireside Mix)” — Channeling retro variety shows and modern late night skits, this cowboy crooner from a country holiday special toes the line between nostalgic and pensive, inviting viewers at home to gather ‘round the fake on-set fire.

“We Wish You A Merry Christmas (Holiday Sweater Mix)” — Full of velvety male vocals, twinkly bells, pizzicato strings, and claps… if Ugly Sweater parties and coordinated pajama family photos had a sound, this would be it.

Continuing on our Organic Spark sleigh ride with Home For The Holidays (OSPK-078), we present a nostalgic, yet modern album of original production music that embraces the warmer side of the holiday season. With tracks like “Icicle Built For Two” you can’t help but think about all of the best things that happen during the holidays — the comfort of family and friends, gathering and making memories, and the moments that money can’t buy… but it could still work for jewelry commercials.

And while some folks are out shopping and decking the halls, “Meet You At The Rink” features timeless piano and jazz guitar that summon vintage “Christmas TV Special” vibes while still sounding very much of the moment in 2024 and beyond.

These records are just a sneak peek under the wrapping paper. Here is an expansive Holiday Music Roundup that features everything from Thanksgiving to frantic shopping sprees to traditional brass arrangements. And for all of you low-key, hygge-loving winter folks, we have an in-depth look at one of our favorite piano-centric Christmas records from Modus Operandi, Nordic Holiday (MOPM-077).

Let the countdown to Christmas begin… or did it ever stop?
