Holiday Music Roundup
Holiday greetings from the Lab!
‘Tis the season for odious amounts of Michael Bublé, terrible covers of classic Christmas songs, and that one Band Aid song. But you don’t want that. Your story requires a unique soundtrack and still communicates all the holly jolly feelings of the season. Many of our clients have asked for a consolidated place to find our best holiday music, so we put together a special roundup of some holiday albums. Cheers!
Label: UNDERscore
Album: Under The Mistletoe (UND-25)
Brief Description: Looking for non-traditional Christmas tunes that have all the right sonic flavors for your holiday spot? Under The Mistletoe has plenty of the sounds of the season, like chimes, sleigh bells, strings, glockenspiel, and yes, even horse hoofs?! This album also seamlessly coasts through a variety of genres like electronic, folk, and pop as well as the usual special event music. Plus, the first track listed below may or may not be about nudist elves.
Notable Track Titles:
Freeze Your Ass Off
Hiphop Holiday in Hammerfall
We Three Kings Are Hesitant
Label: Three Ingredients Or Less

Brief Description: Ok, you need something a little more cozy and that has less references to kinky elves? Feast upon one of our newest additions, an original holiday music album full of laidback and soulful sounds, ready for your next heartfelt spot. Mellow acoustic guitars, tasteful sleigh bells, and delicate textures that our Three Ingredients Or Less label is known for. Think of this one as the nightcap before the madness of the next morning begins.

After the Snow
Reunion Back Home
Label: Organic Spark
Album: Homegrown Holiday (OSPK-007)
Brief Description: For those who are looking for a healthy mix of fresh arrangements of classics and originals that fit right in with the mainstays, we haven’t forgotten about you. Tasteful electronics and FX deck the halls of this album, anchored by organic of delicate and agile pianos and strummed guitars. Plus there’s a track called “Elfy McElferton.” Just don’t call him an angry elf.
Notable Track Titles:
Knight Before Christmas
The Real Meaning Of
The First Noel
Label: Modus Operandi
Album: Holiday Magic (MOPM-051)
Brief Description: How many times have you heard “Jingle Bells” in your life? Whether it be of the “Batman Smells” variety or otherwise, it’s probably in the hundreds or maybe thousands. But you’ve never heard it like this cheesy bossa nova version. Wholly original takes on these (sometimes) overused tracks are just part of what makes us love Holiday Magic. But like the previous album, there are plenty of fun, original takes on the genre. Bonus: the track titles here are truly on point.
Notable Track Titles:
Southern New Year
Secret Service Emmanuel
The Threat of Christmas
Label: UNDERscore
Album: Under the Mistletoe v2 (UND-39)
Brief Description: An album so nice we made it twice. Well, we made a sequel. Getting back to our albums full of irreverently titled, uniquely original holiday tunes, this album has several versions of each song, but we’ve got the Christmas mixes lined up first… for what we hope are obvious reasons. These tracks have a modern feel without taking them out of the timeless nature of the holidays. Plenty of percussion, guitars, and pizzicato strings for those traditional elements you crave.
Notable Track Titles:
Tender on Tinder
Muffin Top Memories
Mistletoe for Bristle Bros
Label: Organic Spark
Album: Christmas Lights (OSPK-063)
Brief Description: We haven’t forgotten all you purists out there who squeal with delight each time the Hallelujah Chorus comes on. Here are some wonderfully traditional tunes featuring a brass quintet. As always, there are a few other surprises thrown in there too. No lumps of coal, just the good stuff.
