Under the Sun v4

uplifting, positive, indie, pride, warm (UND-61)

“There’s nothing new under the sun.” It’s an old phrase that has been quoted time and time again, but it seems a bit short sighted. Whether you believe it’s true or not, there are always new ways of looking at things.

We’ve explored the radiant territory known as Under the Sun before, presenting different styles and interpretations of the uplifting characteristics that go along with a sunny day. We’ll revisit each of the previous volumes of this series below, but first we’d like to introduce you to the newest member of the “sun’s out, guns/buns out” club.

Under the Sun v4 (UND-61) uses the hope and heart of indie pop to beautifully translate the lively, light, and adventurous feel of the first days of summer. There’s possibility in the air as piano-driven tracks rise to new heights, guitar riffs provide layers of warmth and love, and a dynamic bass and drum combo propel the story arc forward. Composed by Alec Shaw, these songs can support narrative storytelling such as dramas and travel docs as well as underscores for corporate promotions focusing on progress or pride.

Now here’s a brief tour of our additional Under the Sun albums:

The OG is a bit of a grab bag. As with many of our early UNDERscore records, Under the Sun (UND-03) centers around the theme rather than a particular style or genre. Tracks featuring acoustic guitars with sun-strolling vibes sit alongside energized electro-pop flavors. If you've got that general “sunny” direction but aren’t sold on a particular sound, the variety of this record makes it incredibly easy to find an option that fits your story.

The sound of 90s jangle pop rock is alive and well on Under the Sun v2 (UND-44). This album hits the road with a positive force full of driving guitars and optimistic melodies. The upbeat urgency of the drums stands out, giving many of these tracks a friendly “seize the day” attitude within a lively atmosphere.

If Under the Sun v2 is the road trip, Under the Sun v3 (UND-52) is the pool party. Composer Cristian Strehlow’s unique brand of pop brings fashionable, chill, and hip-hop influences to the table (or cabana). Through synths, beats, and unique samples, this modern soundtrack is undeniably happy… though it might have a bit of a buzz.

If there’s nothing new under the sun, we sure do keep finding different ways of looking at it. Maybe it’s the sunglasses.
