Alec Shaw is hustling. This hustle is embodied not only in the urgency and passion of his music, but in the lead up to this performance in the KEXP live studio in Seattle, WA. With under two weeks to prepare, Shaw made some calls and was able to get his expansive band and assemble a ten person choir to create a truly impactful performance.

The multi-instrumentalist takes up instrument after instrument as he plays songs from his record Quantity, effortlessly commanding a dynamic sound that could easily swallow up other performers. Fueled by his gospel and R&B influences, his powerful voice retains a smoothness that makes his melodies stand out.

In addition to the hustle heard and seen in his work as an artist, Shaw has been a frequent composer for License Lab releases on our Eyeballs & Eardrums and UNDERscore labels over the last year. Some of our favorites that he's worked on include Sentimental Skies (E&E-034) and Under One Roof v2 (UND-57), channeling a softer, but no less emotive side of his musical range.
