New Playlist Alert: Summer School Slackers

Summer School: two of the most dreaded words in the teenage language, a not-so-veiled threat to take away your precious freedom unless you “shape up” and get your grades in order before the end of the school year. But as with all fear-based, “sharper stick” incentives, it usually has the opposite effect. It inspires a sense of rebellion, bringing out a righteous indignation that only a teenage slacker can manifest.

We’ve assembled the sounds of the Summer School Slacker into a brash, youthful, exciting, and occasionally rude playlist that has no intention of following the rules. Full of a variety of rock sub-genres like pop punk, indie rock, skater punk, hard rock, these tracks turn that signature teen angst and energy into junkyard bottle rockets.

You’ll find tracks with full vocals, crunchy guitars, and pummeling drums that heighten the frenzy, each carrying its own unique attitude. Channel your inner rebel and rage on, you youthful renegade.

“Dog Ate My Homework”

Chaotic punk that embodies the spirit of the angsty slacker, “Dog Ate My Homework” has full vocals dripping with angsty attitude and the oldest excuse in the book, but with a harsher edge. Impacts, hits, and edit points abound with screechy guitars adding tension before every release. NO-VOC version available for slightly less anarchy.

“All The Yes”

Frantic energy builds throughout, brash punk rock with nasty guitar tones. This face-paced track is full of youthful confidence, and like all good slackers, a little rough around the edges. The climax on this one is nothing short of relentless.
