Journeys are as much a part of life as breathing. But not all are epic adventures or travel to distant worlds. Some journeys appear as simple as making it through the day, a month, a year while holding onto progress. No matter the size of these steps, the weight of a decision to continue forward cannot be measured. Mental or physical, big or small, every journey is a story unto itself and this album reflects the choices that keep us on the path.
Underway (UND-64) is an atmospheric, cerebral soundtrack that is led by a soft ensemble of dreamy instruments and synths. Simple, dynamic piano melodies range from panoramic to delicate, partnering with pizzicato and sweeping strings that interchange seamlessly with synthesizer textures. Flute adds to the intrigue on tracks like “Mother Nature Awakening” and “Osaka Blossom” as the album remains largely reflective, rising and uplifting.
Composed by Andrea Giordani, Underway balances determination with a dreamy atmosphere that is suited for emotive journeys as varied as technological advancements, travel documentaries, compassionate advertisements, and aerial drone footage that showcase the wonders of the natural world.
