Artist Watch: Immortal Girlfriend Delivers Captivating New Video for “Others”

FEATURING FRIENDS, COLLEAGUES, PLAYERS, COMPOSERS AND THEIR MUSIC OUTSIDE OF THE LICENSE LAB CATALOG

Immortal Girlfriend is off to the races. 

After starting off 2021 with the edgy, dynamic single “Seeker,” the band quickly followed up with headbanging-worthy track “Others.” Both songs are prime examples of the band pushing their sonic boundaries and stepping up their game to reach new heights.

But it doesn’t stop there. The band has collaborated with directors Josh Halverson and Ryan Bingham, who work together under the moniker BASH, to deliver a visual representation of “Others” with an epic sci-fi inspired video featuring an extended score from the band.

“We didn't know we would extend the song until we'd finished the film, and realized we could tell a better story with some more music to work with,” says Bingham. “They were so open and completely without ego about the idea, and quickly it became a really fun collaborative effort to find the right mix of the original music alongside the new pieces they scored to fit our film.”

On scoring the video, Will Bush from Immortal Girlfriend tells us “We wanted to expand on ‘Others’ as a song, but also reflect what is happening on screen. The sections of the film that we scored, we wanted to let the synth inform the viewer. Any intensity on screen we attempted to match sonically.”

The collaboration has yielded a captivating video that showcases a band that is headed nowhere but up. Bingham adds his praise saying “They're about to blow up, they're too talented and gracious to work with, it's a matter of time. I'm buying Immortal Girlfriend stock, it's going to the mooooooon!”
