Why Milwaukee
The License Lab has called Milwaukee home since our inception in 2011. With a physical space in the original post office building for one of the many villages included in Milwaukee’s borders, and located just up the road from the longstanding (and original) Miller Brewery, we’re not shy about sharing who we are and where we’re from. And while some members of our Lab team have migrated to different parts of the country, we still call Milwaukee home.
Ever wonder why?
Milwaukee may not be as shiny or trendy as the big coastal cities, but we’ve proven that a production music company can stay competitive while being a part of a community that simultaneously enjoys the benefits of a larger metropolitan downtown and a small town feel.
One of the first things Daniel mentioned after he moved to Seattle was how spoiled Milwaukee is with the incredible coffee scene we have going. He’s not wrong. We also have an extremely robust parks system, two surging professional sports teams with three MVPs in their ranks, the highest bar-to-grocery-store ratio in the country, and let’s not forget the beauty of our own coast, sitting on shores of Lake Michigan. The list goes on and on.
Hopefully you’ll be able to visit us soon. We’d love to show you all the city has to offer. But in the meantime, check out this feature we recently found on our fair city via Google Arts & Culture:
