Hyperpop

Avant-garde dark pop and near-digicore built for the socially non-binary and youthfully nocturnal, featuring vocal samples that heighten the senses. (HK-20)

Who’s ready for a frenzied synth concoction full of animated, pitched up digicore and dark pop vocals? Our latest offering from our promo music label HypeKit has got the goods.

Composer Kory Burrell (Dogwood Last) has created an album that is as melodramatic as it is playful, keeping the passion that defines the fast-paced genre without sacrificing an ounce of the rich personalities found within.

Hyperpop (HK-20) sidelines inhibitions and moves with sensual confidence. Booming bass, futuristic synths, and uninhibited electronic percussion lay the foundation while vocoder-soaked vocals and samples bounce off the walls on tracks like “baby won’t you.” But it's not always about speed as “in2silence” brings the laid back beat that borders on trap, exploring the darker side of the youthful, nocturnal energy.

From late night and fashion-forward spots to dramatic action scenes, the current sounds of Hyperpop are unexpectedly versatile. As the computer-based creations of dark pop continue to spread, don’t be surprised when you get more requests for artists like SOPHIE and Charli XCX.
