The Seinfeld Network
A quick video study on how choices in music supervision and placement can make a huge difference for any given production.
Here we see vintage Seinfeld footage with a portion of the soundtrack to The Social Network juxtaposed underneath, instead of the usual sampled slap-bass riff (composed by Jonathan Wolff) that became Seinfeld’s signature sound.
This is followed by a short scene from The Social Network, with the comical slap-bass riffs and laugh track replacing the brilliant and tension-inducing movie score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
Music matters. Your choices in placing and licensing the right music matter. But you know that.
