The Alley Cat
an IndieGoGo campaign
Independent filmmakers Marie Ullrich (writer, director, producer), Dylan Verrechia (director of photography), and Kathryn Henderson (producer) need some support as they push through the last 10 days of principal photography in Chicago on their feature The Alley Cat.
The film follows Jasper (from Ullrich’s short film Faster) as she participates in an alley cat race — a late night, alcohol-fueled bike messenger race through downtown alleys and streets.
Your donations will go directly towards paying for important things like City of Chicago shooting permits (10 needed at $25 each), feeding the crew ($100-200 per day, for 10 days), sound equipment, and a cargo van.
As they’ve reported, “We lost all original pledges & donations from Kickstarter that were not repledged via Paypal & could use that little bit to round out the film! Though we did get an investor, there are still a few larger expenses that have come up.”
We think it’s noteworthy that having tried Kickstarter before shooting but not reaching 100% of the goal (which means you get none of the pledged dollars) The Alley Cat team was able to secure some funding through other avenues. But even with that successful step, they still need a little help… and by choosing to use Indiegogo as the platform, they’ll be able to keep and use whatever donations are made, regardless of reaching the goal. Every bit helps!
There are 9 days left on the campaign, so take a look, read more about the project on Facebook, and think about supporting the independent film, The Alley Cat.
